Palensky, age 84, of Auburn, WA, formerly of Crete, ND, passed away at home on January 2, 2014.

Irene was born on June 3, 1929. After graduating from Oakes High School in 1946, Irene worked for North American Creamery in Oakes as a bookkeeper until she married Floyd Palensky of Crete, ND. They made their home and farmed near Crete for twenty years. In 1967, they moved to Auburn, WA, where Irene worked for the Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company as an operator. In 1976, they moved to Enumclaw, WA. Irene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Enumclaw and a former member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd of Auburn, WA; two sons, Allen Palensky, Auburn, WA and Jerry Palensky, Zap, ND; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her parents and their daughter, Linda.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes. Rosary will start at 10:00 a.m. with a prayer service to follow, and then burial at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery near Oakes.
