N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown has been working on bringing in a Big Box Retail store into the city since October 2013.
A study conducted last year showed that Jamestown received roughly $4.5 million in home improvement sales. These statistics were taken and compared with Brookings, SD, North Platt, NE, and Mitchell , SD, which showed about $62 million in the same area. All three communities were chosen because they resembled the community of Jamestown. According to Mayor Katie Anderson, that’s something that the city took into consideration.
As of now, there has been no word from spokesmen from the three Home Improvement stores that are being targeted. The stores include Lowe’s, Menard’s, and Home Depot.
