(NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Wrestling team traveled to Rugby for the 2014 Rugby Panther Booster Invitational Tourney last Friday and Saturday. Carrington won the tourney with 257 points, followed by Pembina County North with 226.5 points, third was South Border with 215.5 points, Turtle Mountain was fourth with 199 and rounding out the top five was Central Cass with 154.5 points. The Cardinals had three champions in the Tourney. Here are the individual results for Carrington:

Next up for the Carrington grapplers will be tomorrow night in Harvey for a wrestling triangular. 6pm – Harvey/Wells County VS Grafton, 15 minutes after – Grafton VS Carrington, 10 minutes after – HWC VS Carrington. Both Carrington matches can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com starting about 6:35pm prematch.
HIGH SCHOOL CLASS B BOYS BASKETBALL: Dakota Prairie 58 Carrington 46
After starting 5-0, the Cardinal boys basketball team has suffered its fourth loss in a row last Saturday night in McVille. Carrington had the lead at halftime 20-18, but Dakota Prairie scored 22 points in the third quarter to take the lead for good. Seth Abaurrea led the way for Carrington with 13 points, followed by Jake Edland with 12 and Brady Smith added 10. John Lund led all scorers with 15 points for the Knights, he was eight of eight at the free-throw line. Carrington had 21 turnovers, DP had 20.
Next up for the Carrington boys will be this Thursday in Carrington against fellow District 7 team Midkota. Varsity will tip off at 7:30pm, pregame can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com starting about 7:10p.
