(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown made the trek to the Capital City on Tuesday night and left a little battered and bruised. The girls held tough with top-ranked Century but Jordyn Jossart’s 29 points were too much to overcome and lost 62-45.
The boys fell victim to a 44-8 run by the Patriots and were beaten 88-45. At one point it was 17-12 in favor of Century, but they scored 44 of the next 52 and never looked back.
Tyler Rudolph, on his way to Minot State in the fall, scored 13 in the opening half including a thunderous dunk and a even added a three-ball.
In the second half it was more of the same as Century rattled off the first 15 points en route to their 43-point win. Jamestown got 15 points from Nick Fuchs as they fell to 3-5.
In the girls game, Jossart splashed in seven triples to lead her team to an eighth victory. Jamestown grabbed a 23-21 lead with two minutes to go before halftime on the third of three Sam Johnson three-point baskets. Century scored nine of the final 10 into the break.
Paige Peterson paced the Jays with 14 while Addie Eamon chipped in with 13. Jamestown falls to 4-4 and both teams have a week off before heading back to Bismarck for a date with St. Mary’s.
