(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown hosted Dickinson Tuesday night in West Region hockey, and the Jays skated away with a 3-2 victory.
Jamestown got the only goal of the first period when Nick Watne buried his 4th of the season. Nick Stockert built the lead to 3-0 with his 5th and 6th goals of the season in period #2.
The Midgets popped in a couple of third period goals, but Jamestown weathered the storm and held on for a huge conference victory. The Blue Jays outshot Dickinson 45 to 36. Brian Wenzel came up with 34 saves for Jamestown. The win moves the Jays past the Midgets into 5th place in the WDA.
“This was our best effort in back to back games this season.” said head coach Matt Stockert. Jamestown improves to 4-5 in the conference and 4-7 overall. The two teams will tangle again on Thursday night in Dickinson.
