CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Authorities have charged Andrew Mikalas of Fargo and Nicole Lindermann of Valley City with felony arson stemming from the October 21 fire at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City.

Barnes County State’s Attorney Lee Grossman says a number of local law enforcement agencies helped during the investigation which was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agency.

Mikalas has been charged with felony arson, endangering by fire or explosion along with two counts of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of theft of property.

Lindermann was charged with felony criminal conspiracy to commit arson, felony burglary and misdemeanor theft of property.

Damage to Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City is estimated at $2.2 million.

Valley City police chief Fred Thompson says the investigation of several other church burglaries in Valley City continues. Anyone with additional information about the Faith Lutheran Church fire and other church burglaries is asked to contact the Valley City police department at 701-845-3110.
