CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) The North Star Athletic Association announced on Monday night that Valley City States Brittany Lehner was the conference’s player-of-the-week for January 13th.

The Watertown, South Dakota native averaged 24 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and just over one steal a game as the Vikings took wins against Trinity Bible and Johnson and Wales University.

Against Trinity Bible, Lehner led VCSU with 17 points and 7 boards in a 83-32 routing of the Lions. She would fallow that up just days later with a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds against Johnson and Wales. In that game with the Wildcats the Vikings senior forward was near flawless shooting 75% from the field and hitting 12 free-throws on 15 attempts.

With 1,230 points in her career, Lehner stands eighth all-time in scoring for the Vikings. She has also stands amongst the top rebounders in VCSU history at ninth all-time with 523 in her years with Valley City.

Lehner, and the Vikings continue the season on Wednesday when they take on North Dakota State University on the road. Game time is set for 7pm, and you can hear all the action on Dakota Country 1490 KOVC AM.
