N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Golden Acres Manor, located in Carrington, has announced to the public that due to a recent outbreak of illness, they are closed to any visitors.

The outbreak, which began Friday, January 17th is a flu-like illness. Robin Iszler with Central Valley Health of Jamestown, stated that Stutsman County has really remained the same as last year and isn’t seeing a high rise like other locations.

“The flu that is affecting Foster County is different than the flu that is circulating. They’re seeing a stomach related flu and the circulation flu this year is Influenza or upper respiratory.” Robin stated. “We were lucky because we had the vaccination for the type of flu in circulation. It is never to late to vaccinate.”

Tips to help avoid the flu include good hand washing, staying home when you’re sick and keeping your hands out of your mouth.
