FALLS, S.D. (NewsDakota.com) They call it “Vishing.” It’s the definition of a text message scam attempt and several were reported earlier this week.

This one attempted to lure Wells Fargo Bank customers in three states according to Wells Fargo Bank spokeswoman Staci Schiller, including a number of  cell phone users with a the Valley City prefix.

Schiller says never give out personal information to an unsolicited phone call or text message. She says check with your local bank after receiving a suspicious message or call.

A number of “Vishing” or text scam attempts have been reported this month in the Dakota’s and Minnesota.
