(NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinal wrestlers made the trip last night to Devils Lake for a triangular against two Class A teams, No. 1 West Fargo Packers and Devils Lake.  The Cardinals fell to the Packers 39-27, but won 5 out of 14 matches.  This is the first loss of season for the Cards in duals, but they came right back and beat Devils Lake 73-0 to improve their record to 10-1.

The Card wrestlers are in New Salem today and tomorrow for the East-West Classic,  coverage starts today at 3pm on AM 1600 KDAK, tomorrow at 10a on AM 1220 KDDR in Oakes, AM 1600 KDAK in Carrington and newsdakota.com.

The Cardinal girls hosted fellow District 7 Harvey/Wells County last night in basketball.

The Card girls needed overtime to the beat the Hornets 54-47.  Carrington had the lead 30-23 going into halftime, but they only scored one point in the third quarter and allowed HWC to pull within one point 31-30.  With time winding down in the fourth quarter, Senior Jacey Engelhorn would make a 3-pointer to tie it at 45 and send it into overtime.  Carrington pulled ahead and stayed ahead early, Harvey/Wells County would only score two points in overtime.  Engelhorn led the way for Carrington with 22 points, Alecia Koropatnicki of Harvey/Wells County led all scorers with 25 points.  The Cards improve to 2-1 in District 7 (7-3 overall) with the victory, the Hornets drop to 0-1, 8-2 overall. 

Next up for the Carrington girls will be tomorrow at Bismarck Century High School against No. 3 Beach starting at 1pm with the JV game.
