(NewsDakota.com) So far this year the Card boys have had three games postponed due to the weather, last night they hosted fellow District 7 team Midkota/Kensal in a makeup game from January 16th. Carrington won 61-46 to improve to 2-1 in District 7 and 7-5 overall. Midkota/Kensal drops to 0-5 in District play and 1-15 overall.
The Mustangs jumped to an early 12-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Cardinals rallied and went into halftime with a three point lead. Carrington scored 32 second half points compared to only 20 from Midkota/Kensal to get the important District 7 victory. Carrington had three players in double figures, leading the way was Junior Brady Smith with 14, followed by Jake Edland with 13 and Brady Bickett drained 2 3-pointers and ended up with 12 points. Senior Dakota Hoyt had 15 for the Mustangs.
Next up for Carrington boys will be tonight in Fessenden against District 7 team Harvey/Wells County. Pregame can by heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com starting about 7pm, tip-off at 7:30pm.
GIRLS BASKETBALL: Carrington 56 Devils Lake JV 40
The girls basketball team was on the road last night in Devils Lake for a make-up game against Devils Lake JV. The Cards get the victory and improve to 8-3 overall.
