CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City State Baseball team has a new assistant coach. The Vikings announced on Friday that Joe Dominiak was hired to help out with coaching duties for the current 2013- 2014 baseball season.
Head coach Casey Olney said, “Joe bring a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to our coaching staff.”
Dominiak will begin his duties on January 31st, when he will help with the recruiting process at both the regional and national level. As a coach he will help out the progression of pitchers and catchers.
Dominiak has been involved with baseball for the past 27 year. He graduated from Southern Oregon. His most recent duties came as a varsity coach of the of an area high school in Bend, Oregon.
Dominiak was also the head coach of St. Martins University, a NCAA Division II school in Washington State. He was the head coach there from 1999-2008.
After the fall season the Vikings will enter the new year with a 4-4 record.
VCSU begins the spring portion of the season at the beginning of March when they travel to Midland, Nebraska.
