(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown gave Bismarck Century all it could handle on Thursday night in West Region hockey at Wilson Arena but came up short 4-2. The Patriots came
to town with the best record in the state, and held a slim 2-1 lead after one.

Brandon Stahlhut ripped home his 8th of the season for the Jays only goal in the first period. Century built the lead to 4-1 after two. Stahlhut struck again, as he blasted home his 9th of the season early in the third to cut the deficit to two, but the Blue Jays would get no closer.

“We battled. We had lots of positives tonight.” said head coach Matt Stockert. Century outshot Jamestown 35-18. Jays goalie Brian Wenzel finished with 31 saves.

The Patriots improve to 15-2, 11-1 in the West, Jamestown slips to 6-11, 6-6 in the West Region. Next up for the Blue Jays is a trip to Dickinson on Saturday to battle the Midgets.
