(NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals traveled to Maddock last night to take on District 8 team the Benson County Wildcats. Carrington won 68-48. The Cardinals improve to 9-10 overall, the Wildcats drop to 9-10 overall.
The Cardinals were pretty well balanced in the scoring column, every player that touched the court had at least two points. Leading the way was Senior Jake Edland with 18 points, followed by Senior Ryan Indergaard with 13, Brady Smith added 11, Brady Bickett and Seth Abaurrea had 10 each as well, Abaurrea had four blocked shots. Benson County was led by Dagan Arendt with 11. Carrington had 14 turnovers compared to 13 from the Wildcats. Benson County had trouble at the charity stripe shooting 11/20, Carrington was 10/14.
Next up for Carrington is this Thursday at the Devils Lake Sports Center for the District 7 Tournament opening round. Sixth seeded Carrington will play three seeded New Rockford/Sheyenne at 7pm. All games can be heard on 103.1 FM The Raven and newsdakota.com starting at 3:45pm with four seeded Warwick playing five seeded Lakota/Edmore.
