LaVern Diede, 91, of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, February 10, 2014 at her home. LaVern Deloris Jenner was born on June 2, 1922, in Ashley, ND, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Bertsch) Jenner. LaVern graduated from Ashley High School, and then attended Ellendale Normal, Ellendale, ND and Northern State, Aberdeen, SD. She taught in rural schools in South Dakota until her marriage. On November 11, 1945, LaVern married Elmer Diede at the First Baptist Church in Ashley. LaVern and Elmer made their home in Jamestown. After raising their four children she worked at Feinstein’s Ladies Store in Jamestown. LaVern was an active long time member of First Baptist Church, Jamestown. She leaves behind her four children, Sara (Denis) Norton, Plymouth, MN, Mark (Ruth) Diede, Jamestown, Paulette (Greg) Olson, White Bear Lake, MN, and Anthony (Katherine) Diede, Saudi Arabia; seven grandsons, Zackary, Joshua, & Noah Norton, Mathew & Jonathon Diede, Micah & Jonah Olson; two granddaughters, Meghan & Gretchan Diede; two great granddaughters, Emerson & Owen Diede; and one sister, Elvera Richardson, Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Diede; brother, Vernon Jenner, Ashley; and sister, Frances Schiek, Eureka, SD.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating. Visitation: None scheduled. Arrangements are in the care of Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, in the spring.
