N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Kiwanis Club of Jamestown are holding their fourth packaging event with Kids Against Hunger.

The program uses highly nutritious, life-saving meals for starving children and families all across the U.S. In order to purchase supplies, The Kiwanis Club must raise funds by the middle of March. An anonymous donor has agreed to donate $1 for every $2 raised, up to $25,000, meaning that this could potentially be the biggest in the club’s history.

The club has raised more than $100,000 and provided over 500,000 meals since beginning three years ago. Packaging is set for Saturday, April 5th at the Buffalo Mall in Jamestown. At least 300 volunteers will be needed. A portion of all that is raised will stay local and be distributed by the Great Plains Food Bank.

Donations are being accepted at First Community Credit Union. They can be dropped off at any of their 14 branch locations across the North Dakota (see www.myfccu.com for locations) or mailed to PO Box 2180, Attn: Janna Bergstedt, Jamestown, ND 58402-2180. Checks can be made out to the Kiwanis Club of Jamestown.
