N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Fire fighters responded to a business and house fire in Oakes near 8th street and Lilac avenue Saturday just before 1 pm. B and B Gardens, a flower shop, and the adjoining home were engulfed in flames when fire fighters from Oakes and Gwinner arrived on the scene.

Strong north winds along with an air temperature of -5 at the time were challenging conditions for the firefighters. No injuries were reported, and Oakes Fire Chief Jerry Hollingsworth says as of Sunday evening the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
