N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – According to the North Dakota Game & Fish Department, approximately 28,600 deer were taken during the 2013 deer gun hunting season.
Over 59,500 licenses were available in 2013 and more than 98 percent were issued. Overall hunter success of 55 percent. Each hunter spent an average of 4.6 days in the field. According to the report, antlered white-tailed deer success was 62 percent and antlerless whitetail was 55 percent.
The department also monitors a number of other population indices to determine license numbers, including advisory board meetings, hunter observations and comments from the public.
