ROCKFORD (NewsDakota.com)  For the second day in a row, the Cardinals went into extra innings and fall by one run, 9-8 in Region 3 High School Baseball yesterday.  Carrington is now 3-2 and 2-2 in Region 3, Sheyenne/New Rockford improves to 4-0 and 4-0 in Region 3.

Ben McKay was the winning pitcher in relief for the Blacksox, he was 3 for 5 at the plate also scoring the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a sac fly by Seth Soderholm.  Lucas Risovi was 3 for 5 with two runs scored for S/NR.

Brett Lyman took the loss for Carrington in relief, at the plate he was 2 for 4 with run scored.  Easton Paeper was 2 for 5 with a run scored.

Next up for Carrington will be the Carrington/New Rockford Baseball Jamboree this Friday and Saturday.  Carrington will play at 1:30pm against Rugby and 4:30pm against Shiloh on Friday.  On Saturday, they will meet Washburn at 4pm and Beulah at 5:30pm.  All games for Carrington can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com.
