N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Visitors will be able to get a look at two new galleries at the North Dakota Heritage Center today. The museum has been closed since fall 2012 while the facility undergoes a .7 million makeover that will expand the facility by about 100,000 square feet. Historical Society Director Merl Paaverud says a “soft opening” is set for today.

The grand opening for the renovated center is scheduled for November which is the 125th anniversary of North Dakota statehood.

The Heritage Center on the state Capitol grounds is home to the State Historical Society of North Dakota and is the state’s official history museum.
