Emma Gent, 93, Mahnomen, MN, formerly of Jamestown, ND died Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Mahnomen, MN.

    Emma Wittmer was born October 2, 1920 south of Medina, ND the daughter of Jacob Wittmer and Emilia (Reister) Wittmer. At the age of 3 she moved with her family to a farm north of Medina where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

    She and John Gent were married November 29, 1941 at Bemidji, MN. They made their home in Jamestown where her husband worked as a mechanic and later did construction work. Following their retirement they continued to reside in Jamestown. John passed away May 23, 1992. She moved to Mahnomen, MN in 2013 to be closer to her son.

    She is survived by 1 son and daughter in law, Vernon and Noreen Gent, Mahnomen, MN, 1 grandson, Chad and Audrey Gent, Winger, MN and 1 great grandchild, Zach.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

    Graveside Service – 11:00 AM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.

    Visitation – 9-10:30 AM Saturday at the Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.
