CITY (NewsDakota.com)- It didn’t matter that Jimmie ace Tanner Dahl didn’t have his best stuff on the mound, because the offense picked him up and then some. The University of Jamestown pounded out 15 hits (nine of which went for extra bases) and scored 20 runs in their 20-7 rout of Presentation.
Dahl went five innings, picking up his ninth win of the season while giving up five runs in his 10th start of the season. He retired the first six batters he faced, including three strikeouts.
Jamestown struck first after Erik Peterson was hit by a pitch to load the bases in the first inning with no one out, Landon Uetz and Paul Sitkowski followed with a pair of sac-flys to make a 2-0 game. The Jimmies scored two or more runs in every inning of the game.
A Mitch Stevens bomb would make it 4-0 in the second inning, before the Saints finally got a run in the third. Landon Uetz added a 3-run shot later on as the Jimmies poured it on. Nine extra base hits in the game, Rudy Strnad had two doubles and a triple. Spencer Flaten had a pair of doubles.
The Jimmies will play at 2pm on Saturday against the loser of Dakota State and Valley City State. Game will be heard on 103.1 The Raven and NewsDakota.com
