N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The fourth year of Teen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Jamestown is coming to a close this Thursday, May 8th.

Roughly 130 students in the Freshman class at JHS will be participating in a disaster exercise. Students will be acting as responders during a mock bleacher collapse scenario. Jamestown drama students will be acting as victims. The exercise will give students a chance to practice and refine their abilities should the need arise for actual disaster or emergency response.

Prior to the exercise, there will be a brief graduation with students receiving their Teen CERT diplomas. Mayor Katie Andersen will be in attendance to congratulate them. Due to the large amount of students this year, there will be two separate exercises and graduation ceremonies.

The first group will graduate from CERT training at 9:01 AM and the second group will graduate at 10:21 AM at the Jamestown High School Gym.
