N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – University of Jamestown will present degrees to 190 graduates during its 108th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 10 at the Jamestown Civic Center. Baccalaureate takes place at 10:30 a.m. Commencement is at 2:30 p.m.
Dr. Gary Watts, Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs, will deliver the Commencement address.
Speakers representing the Class of 2014 are Stephanie Erlandson, an exercise science graduate from Breckenridge, Minn.; and Peter Odney, a mass communication graduate from St. Paul, Minn. Ben Kirkeby, Assistant Professor and Psychology Department Chairman, will deliver the Baccalaureate address.
Dr. M. James Scherbenske, a 1959 graduate from Falls Church, Va., will be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame on Friday, May 9 and recognized at the Commencement ceremony. Dr. Scherbenske is retired from the National Institutes of Health as a health scientist administrator.
The University of Jamestown Concert Choir will present a Commencement Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 9 in Voorhees Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.
