N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Seven people were injured in a crash south of Rugby last night shortly after 5 o’clock.
Highway Patrol Sgt. Robert Kennedy says Allan Meckle was driving a 2000 Chevy S10 northbound on state Highway 3, crossed the center line and into the southbound lane. He says second driver Jessica Helland in a 2000 GMC Savanna took evasive action by reducing speed to avoid a collision but both vehicles collided head-on in a sideswiping manner. Both vehicles entered the ditch and sustained severe damage.
Kennedy say Meckle was air-lifted to a Minot hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Helland and five other passengers, Leon Helland and 4 children suffered injuries during the crash and were treated and released yesterday. The crash remains under investigation with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
