CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Municipal Courtroom is still inside the Valley City Law Enforcement Center but further down the hall and close to the front door of the building at 216 2nd avenue northeast.

Municipal Judge Tom Goven held an open house Monday for the newly renovated Municipal Courtroom, now located inside the former offices of the Barnes County Sheriff’s Department.

Judge Goven says we are in the same building but a little closer to the police department, so its even more reassuring to know they are just a few steps away.

Down the hallway from the courtroom is the police department evidence vault the city purchased after the old was destroyed during a flooding event in June of 2013.
