CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The suspect in the AmericInn motel burglary in Valley City is now in custody. Police Chief Fred Thompson says 26-year-old Paul Jacob Myles turned himself into Valley City police early Wednesday morning.

Myles is accused of stealing a safe and cash from the front desk of the motel just before 4 o’clock Monday morning.

Thompson says the suspect dropped the safe as he was fleeing the scene on Monday. Police officers recovered the safe and some cash a short time later. Myles is a former employee of the AmericInn and was identified through surveillance video taken during the burglary.

Myles was arrested on charges of burglary, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Anyone with additional information in this case is asked to contact the Valley City police department at 845-3110.
