N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In order to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic nuisance species in North Dakota waters, the State Game and Fish Department is reminding everyone of the threat that it imposes.
With over 400 recreational fishing waters in the state, the possibility of introducing and spreading aquatic nuisance species is high. Current law states that all water must be drained from the watercraft when leaving a body of water, including livewells. That means fish cannot be transported in a livewell containing water. No aquatic vegetation can be on watercrafts, motors, trailers or recreational equipment when out of the water.
