N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department had a busy month between April 25th and May 22nd.

According to Fire Chief Jim Ruether, the JFD has responded to 118 calls so far for 2014. The following run report is a list of calls, dates and times that the Fire Department was called out between April 25th and May 22nd.

April 26th, 6:06PM, fire department responded to 1003 13th St NE, North-Stop N Go, to a report of a dumpster fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-undetermined. No injuries reported. Time out 30 minutes.

April 30th, 1:45PM, ready squad responded to 305 Business Loop West, Don Wilhelm’s, to investigate strange odor smell. Firefighters checked the structure and tested for carbon monoxide, no carbon monoxide was detected. Cause-battery pack booster malfunction. Time out 25 minutes.

May 1st, 7:27AM, ready squad responded to 5855 3rd St SE, Cavendish Farms, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 25 minutes.

May 2nd, 1:31PM, ready squad responded to 1509 4th St NE, Gussner Public School, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-intentional alarm activation. Fire alarm was rest. Time out 15 minutes.

May 9th, 1:16PM, fire department responded to 619 2nd St SW, Single Family Dwelling, to a report of a natural odor. Firefighters checked the area and found a small leak at the MDU meter. Montana Dakota Utilities was contacted to make repairs. Cause-accidental. No injuries reported. Time out 30 minutes.

May 13th, 12:19PM, fire department responded to 301 1st Ave South, Hugo’s Parking Lot, to a report of a vehicle on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-undetermined. No injuries reported. Time out 50 minutes.

May 14th, 12:24AM, fire department responded to 407 3rd Ave NE, to a report of a vehicle on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-undetermined. No injuries reported. Time out 45 minutes.

May 14th, 11:17AM, ready squad responded to 2422 20th St SW, Jamestown Regional Medical Center, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-construction work. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 35 minutes.

May 19th, 8:30AM, Stutsman County Dive Team responded to Spiritwood Lake, to a report of (2) person missing in the water. The search consisted with remote operated vehicle from the Stutsman County Dive Team, boat and sonar from the ND Game & Fish Dept., boat and sonar from Gun & Reel Sports. Other assistances came from Jamestown Fire Dept., Jamestown Police Dept., NDBCI, Red Cross, and Stutsman County Reserve Deputies. Time out 15 hours and 30 minutes.
