CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Barnes County Highway Superintendent Kerry Johnson is reminding motorists about a number of paving projects this summer that may require detours.

Johnson says Mayo Construction, will begin paving County Road 27 North to the Steele County Line on June 16th. He says Mayo Construction has also scheduled paving to begin June 23rd on County Road 21 North starting at Valley City and continuing to the intersection of Barnes County 17 North (Getchell School house).

He says Knife River Industries will commence paving mid to late July from County Road 17 north to ND. Highway #26. Traffic will be maintained thru paving construction zones by means of pilot cars.

Canadian Pacific Railway has tentatively scheduled three rail crossing renewals starting July 14th thru July 17th.  County Road 21 North will be closed during those repairs.  No detour will be provided.  Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

The Highway Department understands that motorists may be inconvenienced by the road closures and paving activities. They appreciate your patience and cooperation and will continue to keep you informed.
