N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Over 450 members and guests attended the annual Dakota Valley Electric meeting on June 12th in Edgeley.

Inflatable games, a craft show, bucket truck rides and an authentic German meal with rides in the Touchstone Energy Hot Air Balloon were part of the festivities. Members Richard Schlosser of Edgeley, Connie Bitz of LaMoure and Matt Thompson of Wyndmere were re-elected to serve on the Board of Directors.

During the meeting, regulations were created to require power plants to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2030. These regulations will have the most effect on coal fired power plants, which represent 59 percent of Dakota Valley’s energy portfolio.
