Stanley “Stan” Morse, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at home in LaMoure, ND. Stan had battled heart disease and severe COPD for a number of years.
Stan was born August 20, 1942 to Ralph E. and Lucille (Himmerich) Morse at his grandmother’s home in Glover, North Dakota. He grew up on the family farm in Dickey County, and attended rural country school a mile from home. He later joined the Army National Guard, where he attended boot camp in Fort Ord, California.
Stan was united in marriage to Sharon Kraft of Wing, North Dakota on January 14, 1964 at Bismarck, North Dakota. They lived on the family farm, where they raised their three daughters, Karla, Sheila, and Paula. Stan had many jobs over the years including building elevators, road construction, and truck driving, but his passion was always farming.
Stan enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, watching old westerns on TV and spending what he knew was borrowed time with his family.
