CITY, N.D. (NewDakota.com) The North Dakota Winter Show Event Center was evacuated for about a half-an-hour after fire fighters responded to a call of the smell of smoke coming from a fluorescent light fixture ballast in the office on Saturday, July 12.

Fire Chief Gary Retterath says people were allowed to re-enter the building about a half hour later. He says the fixture was quickly repaired.

A number of people and animals were inside the North Dakota Winter Show Event Center on Saturday during the Barnes County 4-H Achievement Days.
