N.D. (AP) – Attendance at this year’s North Dakota State Fair fell short of last year’s record. The fair wrapped up its nine-day run on Saturday. Manager Renae Korslien says 314,446 people attended – the second-highest attendance on record.  Last year, 320,485 people passed through the gates.

Next year, the fair will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Marketing Director Jennifer Hubrig says staff is already working on some special activities.
