N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Regional Medical Center has been selected by the North Dakota Center for Nursing for a new pilot program for North Dakota Hospitals.

The North Dakota Center for Nursing has designed the new program to help hospitals assess and plan for work environment improvements as part of Pathways to Excellence. The program recognizes health care and long term care organizations for positive practice environments when where nurses excel.

Benefits of work environment changes include improving nurse satisfaction, retaining choice nursing staff and leaders, and cultivating inter-professional teamwork. JRMC is one of six initial program hospitals in the state. JRMC will receive customized support to help determine work environment strategies and implementing changes.

Other hospitals include Sanford Mayville Medical Center, Fargo VA Health Care System, Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier County Memorial Hospital and Altru Health System.
