N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Sanford health is keeping a close watch on the Ebola outbreak.

The Dakota’s based health group has 5 clinics in Ghana, on the front lines of the epidemic, one of the few West African countries not yet hit by the virus. Executive vice president Cindy Morrison is part of a Sanford team recently returned from Ghana. She says their clinics there are prepared with supplies and response procedures for treatment and containment should Ebola be detected:

Morrison and others who went to Ghana had in-depth instructions from Sanford infectious disease doctor’s on the “do’s and don’t’s” during their visit.

While chances are slim there will be an Ebola outbreak in the U.S., Sanford health has response plans ready. At Sanford’s Fargo hospital, there’s an ‘Ebola cart’ stocked right next to the door.

The full gear includes a gown, face shield, mask, gloves, and leg and shoe covers.
