CITY, N.D. (NewsDaktoa.com) The Valley City Hi-Liner Cross country team recently ended a strong 2014 season at the State Meet in Minot, North Dakota. Over the weekend, the team held its annual awards dinner.
Casey Engelhard picked up the hardware for Hardest Worker and Most Valuable. Mikaylah Ross earned the same two awards for the girls team. April Berntson was the Spirit Award winner for the Girls. She and Engelhard were both runners up this season for the Senior Athlete of the Year Award in the Eastern Dakota Conference.
Others receiving awards for the boys were Jack Jordan (Most Improved) and Nathan Johnson (Spirit Award). Girls award recipients were Sharon Michael (Rookie Award), Mikayla Wolla (Most Improved) and Eliza Schueneman (Hardest Worker).
