L. (Rice) Musch Anderson-Henne, 93, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014, at the Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City, ND, with her loved ones at her side.
Born January 6, 1921, to Keith and Anna (Albrecht) Rice, Mary grew up on the family farm in Emmet before moving to Garrison. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Garrison, ND. Educated in Garrison, she went on to graduate from the Good Samaritan Bible School and Practical Nursing in Waterloo, IA.
On April 16, 1942, Mary was united in marriage to Ernest Musch of Waterloo, IA. To this union three daughters and a son were born. They resided in Garrison until 1958 when the family moved to Valley City where Ernie was a plumber with Buchman Plumbing and Heating. Mary worked as a nurse at Sheyenne Care Center and Mercy Hospital. Ernie passed away in 1972.
On November 16, 1973, Mary was united in marriage to Nordman T. Anderson of Dazey, ND. They resided on the Anderson farm west of Dazey until 1988, when they retired and moved to Valley City. Nordy passed away in 1992.
On July 14, 1995, Mary was united in marriage to Edwin Henne of Moorhead, MN. They lived in Fargo, ND, and Moorhead, MN until Ed’s death in 2005. At that time Mary returned to Valley City, living at the Landmark Apartments, and for the past seven years at the Sheyenne Care Center.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ann (Gerry) Gamrath of Valley City, ND; Coleen (Dick) Olson of Bismarck, ND; and Patricia (Bill) Hansen of Minneapolis, MN; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, a baby sister, two brothers, 3 husbands, a son and great granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Dazey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Foundation, Valley City.
