BISMARCK (NewsDakota.com) The Jamestown High School Basketball teams had much better showings Saturday in day two of the WDA Jamboree, but in the end, both the girls and boys teams took losses; this time to Bismarck High.

the girls contest, the Jays were only trailing Bismarck by six points at the half, but the Demons pulled away in the the second half; shooting just over 40 percent from the field for the game, as opposed to the Jays 28 percent in a 57-45 victory. Kadie Anderson had a team high 12 points for Jamestown, while Taylor Schmeichel added 10 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

The boys of Jamestown competed established an early lead on Bismarck, and we’re only down by four at intermission. However, just like in the girls game, the Demons slowly pulled away to earn an 80-63 win. Bismarck was 9 of 18 from behind the arc in the contest, while Jamestown was 0 for 4. The Jays had 16 points each from Noah Wanzek and Logan Anderson, while Nick Fuchs added 14.

Both Jamestown teams are 0-2, and will next play in their home openers and start WDA play against Mandan with the boys taking the court on December 9, and the girls on December 12.
