(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure-Litchville/Marion boys basketball team put an end to Oakes’ winning streak after defeating the hometown Tornadoes 52-47 on Tuesday night.
Oakes (9-5 2-2 Class B District 5) established an early 5-0 lead which was answered by a 4-0 Loboe run in the opening minutes. The Loboes (9-6 2-2 Class B District 5) returned the favor with a 5-0 run towards the end of the first half, and from that point on, never trailed the rest of the contest.
LLM has won nine of their last 11 games after starting this season 0-4. Drew Thielges made a team high 18 points, while Anthony Olson added 17 points; nine of which were made at the free throw line.
Meanwhile, the Tornadoes saw their seven game winning streak end as a result of the defeat. Ethan Zetocha lead Oakes in scoring with 15 points, Bryce Meehl added 10.
