N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A suspicious vehicle pulled over by the North Dakota Highway Patrol was found to contain more than 130 pounds of illegal drugs near Steele this past Sunday.

According to a release from the NDHP, a trooper became suspicious of a vehicle with an Idaho license plate after a traffic violation near Steele on Interstate 94. A search of the vehicle resulted in finding 136 pounds of marijuana. Twenty-two year-old Andrew Xiang and 33 year-old passenger Jerry Yang, both of Sacramento, California, were taken into custody.

The Highway Patrol, along with the Kidder County Sheriff’s Office and a local drug task force helped in the investigation.
