N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown has announced the addition of three new staff members. Rick Raum has joined the institutional advancement department as Director of Planned Giving and Major Gifts, Abigail Maki has joined the marketing department as social media specialist, and Dean Kraft is joining the athletic department as the new golf coach.

Rick Raum has served the University of Jamestown as part-time chaplain for the past year. In addition, he has been serving as interim pastor at Jamestown’s United Presbyterian Church. By the end of this academic year, he will be serving full-time as Director of Planned Giving and Major Gifts. He has served as a Presbyterian pastor in a variety of churches since 1975. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont, a master’s degree from Wayne State University, and a Master of Divination from Princeton Theological Seminary. Rick also studied fund raising through the Indiana University School of Philanthropy.

Abigail Maki has served the University of Jamestown as adjunct professor in the communications department for the past year. She is a 2013 graduate of the University of Montana where she received a BA in journalism. She has experience as a photojournalist in many arenas. In addition to her duties as a social media specialist, she will be using her photography and videography talents on campus to enhance the website and publications. In addition, she will be helping with design of publications.

Dean Kraft has spent 31 years as a social studies teacher at Jamestown High School. At JHS, Kraft was the head girls’ golf coach for 21 seasons, the head boys’ golf coach for 6 seasons, and also coached high school basketball, tennis, and track. Kraft is a 1984 graduate of UND and received his Master’s Degree in 2001. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position of golf coach for the 2015 – 2016 season.
