Shape, age 63, of Litchville, ND died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, ND.  Memorial Services will be conducted at 2PM Friday, May 1, 2015 at the First Lutheran Church in Litchville, ND, with Rev. Marcia Hegna officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM until 7PM Thursday evening at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City.

Dennis Lee Shape was born May 1, 1951 at Valley City, ND, the son of Orval and Shirley (Lovell) Shape.  He grew up on the family farm and attended Svea School and later Litchville High School where he graduated in 1969.  He married Diane McGuire in 1979.  Dennis farmed his entire life, retiring this past year.  He had served on the Litchville Development Board, the Svea Township Board, and the Litchville Fire Department.  His hobbies included fishing, riding motorcycle, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Bruse, Jerry Hayes, Dave Moritz, Mark Shape, Merle Swenson, Dennis Alber, and all family and friends.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be directed to the Litchville Fire Dept.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Diane; two children, Maria (Luke) Marman, Beach, ND and Geoff (Amy) Shape, Litchville, ND; three grandchildren, Camden Parkhurst, Lydia Lee and Clara Kaye Marman; a brother, Charles (Debra) Shape, Valley City, ND; nephew Ben (Heather) Shape and nieces Jessica and Allison Shape.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
