Edward Colville passed from this life, following his battle with pancreatic cancer, on April 24, 2015 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City, ND, with family present.  Steve was born November 12, 1949 in Valley City, the youngest of five children, to Burton and Eleanor (Zaun) Colville.

Steve grew up and attended public school in Valley City.  He married Elizabeth Belling in 1968. They had a son, Keith Stephen Kelly Colville.  The marriage ended shortly thereafter.  In 1978, Steve married Darla, with whom he made a life in South Milwaukee, WI for a time and where he worked as a welder for Bucyrus-Erie.  Since 1990, Steve resided in Moorhead, MN.

Steve possessed an honest, kind and compassionate spirit, along with a wry sense of humor.  He loved music and nature.  He was happiest when he was outdoors, especially when near the ocean.  He had a life-long interest in automobile mechanics, and had many good memories of traveling to and living in three of his favorite places:  Florida, Texas and Oregon.

He leaves to mourn his passing his son Keith and four granddaughters, Destiny, Reign, Faith, and Grace, along with his sister Shari (Lloyd) Fassett of Knoxville, TN, brother Keith B. (Susan)  Colville of Valley City, sister Gail (Richard) McGehee of Yuba City, CA, brother Eugene (Jacki) Colville of Valley City, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John and Edith Zaun, paternal grandparents Edward and Anna Colville, stepmother Grace Martens Colville, and his parents.

The family wishes to thank Lakeland Mental Health Center in Moorhead for providing years of compassionate professional care to Steve and to CHI Hospice for their care in his final days.  A graveside memorial service for family and friends will be held Monday, May 11 at 2 P.M. at Hillside Cemetery in Valley City with Pastor Allan Gerber officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel of Valley City.  An online guestbook is available to leave condolences at www.olivernathanchapel.com.
