CITY, ND – Construction of the Valley City Health, Wellness & Physical Education Center took another step forward as bids from 7 contractors were unanimously approved by the Valley City Park District board in a special meeting on Friday, May 1.
Valley City Parks & Recreation Board President Dick Gulmon says a number of people in the community deserve credit for helping get the Wellness Center to this point.
Valley Development Corporation board member George Gaukler gave examples of projects that received negative feedback in Fargo that are now economically successful. He believes the Wellness Center will have a positive impact.
Valley City State University signed a 99 year land lease agreement with the Valley City Park District on land for the Wellness Center site.
Earlier this year all the bids for the project came in below the $16 million dollar construction cost estimate.
