CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) The region was suffering from a drought earlier this year and after some welcome rainfall the area is now dealing with an abundance of moisture.

NDSU Barnes County Extension Educator Randy Greuenich said there will be a few preventive planting acres this year. He said crop damage from freezing temperatures that hit the area last month may be very minimal.

Low temperatures in Barnes and surrounding counties ranged from 27 to 29 degrees in the middle of May.
