ND – (NewsDakota.com) The nonprofit organization Farm Rescue is getting a large donation from the Otto Bremer Foundation. The donation totals 0,000 over two years and will be used for general operations.

The Jamestown, North Dakota-based group assists family farmers in the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa and eastern Montana who are injured, ill or suffered a natural disaster plant and harvest crops.

Volunteers help the eligible farmers plant and harvest up to 1,000 acres of crops free of charge.

Last fall organization reached a milestone when they helped their 300th farm family in the fall of 2014.
