N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Nearly $4.4 million in Outdoor Heritage Fund grants were approved for 19 conservation and recreation departments in the state and Gackle has received some of those funds.
Money generated from oil and gas production revenue will be used to support projects on public and private lands. The largest project awarded was $1.8 million to the North Dakota Forest Service for their windbreaks project. Gackle received the least amount of $6,000 and it will be used to replace playground equipment at their park. The funds were received as part of the 2015 legislative session appropriation of up to $40 million for the next biennium.
The Industrial Commission consists of Governor Jack Dalrymple, Commissioner Doug Goehring and Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem.
