(NewsDakota.com) – The reigning North Star player of the year, Kurtis Walls, picked up right where he left off in 2014. Walls threw for 524 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-31 Valley City State victory over the University of Jamestown. Its the third straight win for the Vikings in the series, improving their overall record against the Jimmies to 59-51-5.

Walls threw his first touchdown of the day in the closing seconds of the first half to put VCSU up 14-9. He hit Josh Tovar wide open for a 25-yard score. Jamestown used a squib kick and a face mask penalty to move the ball into scoring range quickly on the ensuing possession. Beau Eriksson ran in from 20-yards out with seven seconds left before the half to change the lead a third time.

The third quarter was all Valley City, as the No. 17 Vikings outscored the Jimmies 20-0. Jamestown was able to pick off Walls twice in the fourth quarter on drives into the Jimmie redzone and turned one into a Mike Sena touchdown catch. It was Sena’s second of the day, the first came from 88-yards away.

Jamestown will be at Concorida (MN) next weekend for a non-conference battle with the Cobbers. The Vikings are back on the road again to face Mayville State in a non-conference game.
